Our History: |
Hollandia had its beginnings in 1965 when brothers Karl Sr. and Nick Ellerbroek emigrated from the Netherlands. As young men they had worked with their father maintaining lawns and growing roses. After settling in Holland, Michigan they began a small nursery-- growing quality plants for customer pickup and performing small residential installations. The business grew quickly and in 1979 it split into two companies, with Nick focusing on the nursery and Karl forming Hollandia Gardens to focus on landscaping. Karl’s Dutch work ethic spurred continuous growth and success in his business. In 1980 Hollandia added a full-service lawn maintenance division, in 1984 a snow-plowing division, in 1990 a retail garden center, and in 2002 a commercial landscaping division. Today, Hollandia Gardens continues to operate all of the divisions, providing an impressive array of quality products and services for clients throughout Michigan. Hollandia continues to specialize in designing, installing and maintaining top-quality landscapes.
